Key seats to watch

Lucy Ashton at The Star has produced a guide to the key seats to watch during Sheffield’s local elections.
As the paper's local democracy reporter she is always a good follow on twitter.

Registering to vote if you have no fixed address.

A person who does not have a fixed or permanent address may register at the place where they spend most of their time, or to which they have a local connection. In some cases they will need to register by making a declaration of local connection.

Electoral Commission - Can someone register to vote without a fixed address?

Some of the example ways that this policy applies

  • someone who is homeless or has no fixed address, including
    • merchant seamen
    • members of gypsy and traveller communities
    • people living on narrow boats and other movable residences
  • people who have been remanded in custody, but haven't yet been convicted
  • patients in a mental health hospital.
  • Get the registration form at gov.uk
